WHO WE ARE--
The Foundation was established in 2003 by successful inventor and entrepreneur James L. Cairns, as a means to mentor and financially support young, creative persons who could benefit from his knowledge and experience.
The Foundation's activities are steered by a six-person board of directors who serve without compensation.

D. Connie Garzon-Bernal, M.B.A., C.B.A
Connie was born and raised in Colombia - South America. Former SBDC at DSC Manager was recognized for demonstrating the greatest enhancement of scope, quality and/or impact of consulting services for Volusia/Flagler Entrepreneurs. Bernal was recognized in 2009 as the Best Business Consultant for Central Florida by the Florida Small Business Development Center Network. In July 2011, she was hired to be the Associate Director/Site Manager of the UCF Business Incubator at Daytona Beach International Airport. In August 2013, she was selected as one of the 2013 Influential Women in Business Volusia/Flagler Counties by the News Journal Business Report Magazine.
Bernal is an expert in strategic planning, technology transfer, intellectual property, new business start-up, marketing plan execution, capital asset oversight, cost containment, budgeting/finance, staff training, international business, and a former bank manager.
